hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving :) it's hard to be back at work after such a nice long weekend. we decided to go up to san francisco over the weekend, and actually stayed in a hotel. (i'm so used to staying with friends up there) It was fun to act more like tourists for a change. We stayed at Hotel des Arts - which is a cool hotel where different artists paint a room featuring their unique style. (well actually it more like a hostel, or bed & breakfast, than a hotel. You have to like the charm of old sf buildings....) We had a few rooms there, but this one (called Vinyl Killers) was my fav. Those are vinyl records that are painted and mounted over the walls. I love the funky design in the middle of the wall. I really want to try something like that at home. The bathroom was wall also pretty cool.
we also went to the Mechanical Museum (Musee Mechanique), where there are tons of old antique games.... It used to be under the Cliff House on the Ocean, but they moved it to pier 45. My parents used to take us there, and my dad and my sisters would love to try and arm wrestle on this games. All three of us would pull down at the same time on the arm to beat it. very fun to see to play some of these old games again.
That art is crazy gorgeous!!

That is the most awesome art I've ever seen in a hotel! I hope you are inspired to create some new designs based on them! That would be killer!

How cool is that! My family and I were just talking about Museum Mechanique and we couldn't remember which pier they moved it to. That hotel looks amazing! TFS!

Such an awesome hotel! I'm definitely putting that in my travel box so we are sure to visit it one day! We stayed at a similar place in Amsterdam where each room was decorated based on a different philosopher - it wasn't at bright and graphic as this place though! TFS!
