I can't believe how fast Adelle is growing already. I took these pics last week, it was her first time wearing shoes. (...which only lasted 10 mins). I thought it would be fun to scrapbook them using the Washi Tape banners, which Leena demonstrated how to create on the Hambly Blog. Such a fun technique. I used a fiskars punch for the scalloped pennants, and all Hambly products on the layout.

Today is such a special day... my grandma just turned 100!!!Here's the card I made for her. I wanted it to be special, and I don't think they keep 100th Birthday cards on the shelves at stationery stores. (I used the new high tea papers, and cut out the text with my silhouette)
My grandma is truly an inspiration, I could go on for hours! This is my mom's mom (a bunch of you have met my mom Sandi working at CHA) I took this photo of my grandma at Christmas when she was a young 99! That's my cousins baby she is holding, her first great grandchild. She could not get enough of him, oh this picture says so much to me...Happy 100th Birthday Gram!
Oh and I had to post this one. My grandma is on the left, she used to have her hair that silverish color, and is always dressed so stylish! They must be celebrating my great grandma's birthday here.

So every summer, usually right before CHA- i travel to a little city called Lynd, MN for my family reunion. I know i've mentioned it a few times before (this was last years post-Lynd 2008)-it's one of my favorite times each year. This year was no exception, and we also had a speical guest. The local newspaper from the next city over came out to the house to take a peek into our reunion and wrote an article about it.
You can read it here,
The Marshall Independent
it's pretty exciting how much history there is with our family (The Vanstoms) in Lynd. My grandma who's 98 (turning 99 next month) and her sisters ages 91-100 still tell the most wonderful stories. I hope i'm that sharp at 98!
We also did a sildeshow this year- and i took a few pics from the slides. Do you see my Grandmas dress??
Oh i wish she still had that, i would wear it in a second. oh and her silverish hair!
Here's another one with my great grandma (who did a drawing which i put on top of my wedding cake!) and my grandmas with her borther ans sisters.....Love all the dresses :)

sorry for the lack of posts, after CHA- i drove out to Minnesota for a family reunion. i had good intentions to do a few posts along the way, but it just never happened. At the beginning of my trip I had a wonderful wedding shower while i was visiting in Chicago. Since i had some of the new papers with me, i used them to wrap my thank you gifts. The birdcages were a perfect touch for the books, and the frame wallpaper worked great for the name tags.
CHA was a fun show for us, as always it was great to see the response to the new designs. We also added a little something extra to the booth this year and brought the paint cans from the studio with us to have on display.
I figured i'd share a few pics from the family reunion - we all meet every year at my great grandparents house out in a little town called Lynd.We have a weekend full of so much laughter, good food (lots of sweet corn, popcorn and the peanut butter chocolate sauce....mmmm), and so much history and story telling.
One of my gram's favorite thing to do is listen to "ten little fingers and ten little toes" on the Edison.
And one great discovery this year were letters from around the 1950's that my grandma, and great Aunts & Uncles would write back and forth called "round robins". My great Aunt Peg would send out the blank paper with these little illustrations for the all the letterheads about an event or something going on in one of their lives. Then they would write about it on the letterhead and send it back. Almost reminds me a little of the circle journals people do today.
...okay well i guess it's time to get back to catching up on many e-mails, the new DT and more

You may remember this post from almost a year ago....well it's offical, Zach is a keeper! Zach proposed to me last night! I'm so excited (OMG-it's been really hard to focus on work today)
I guess Zach was going to ask me around my 30th birthday in 2 weeks...but
plans changed. First he wanted to get my Dad's permission (so cute),
but he had to ask my sister where my dad worked. Well, my sister kinda
figured out what was going on... and of course then told my mom (ummm
Zach already knows that nobody in our family can keep a secret)....so
he couldn't wait and asked me last night!!!
I'm so excited right now...i'll share more details later, it's a fun
story, he tied the ring to Jovie's (our puppy's) collar and surprised me.
